West Jersey Depot

About West Jersey Depot:

West Jersey Depot is a former West Jersey and Seashore Line freight station. Built in 1863, the station served as both a telegraph office and hub of commercial activity in Glassboro from 1871 to 1971. West Jersey Depot saw more than 100 freight and passenger trains pass through each day. After years of inactivity, the station was restored in 2015 with federal funding. Most of the original structure remains intact, including original wood window trim and wainscoting, antique glass windows, and the original ticket window and door. There is also a replica of a working telegraph on site. West Jersey Depot currently serves as a meeting space for the Glassboro Historical Society.
